100% authentic and absolutely not a reproduction in any shape or form. I bought this Bad Boy from a writer at Fangoria Magazine many, many years ago. He apparently kept the Alien in what I consider excellent shape. I was well beyond pleased with it's condition. I had the box professionally laminated (inside and out) to last and last, since I never in my wildest dreams expected to let this thing go, and I just wanted it to last forever. It was a very important piece of historic memorabilia from my childhood. You could literally spill water on it and just wipe it away (although I wouldn't out of respect). It's previous history and original tape residue are sealed in... The red insert is custom, but of much thicker and sturdier construction than the original. It also gives the box much firmer structural integrity. The box windows were also replaced with newer thicker plastic. All corners and rounded edges (box windows) of the box were beautifully matched with the trimming of the lamination, and all folds in the box geometry are clean and sharp.

Like I said, my goal was for this thing to look historically amazing, and be with me for good! There is NO poster included, unfortunately I never obtained one.

Now for the Big Chap himself. First of all, he is 100% complete and there is nothing broken, cracked or damaged anywhere EXCEPT, one of the tiny pins located under his dome cover is chipped off. The dome pins do not connect or hook into anything anyway, so it doesn't make a fitting/holding in place difference either way. It is purely cosmetic, although you cant see it unless you remove the dome and look under it anyway.

His hip joints are super snug and he stands better than new. He has rubber grip washers installed in his hips, extremely effective, completely internal and invisible on the outside. His shoulder joints are in great shape and his arms hold position when raised very well. His wrist joints aren't tight, but they certainly don't wobble. I believe this is by design.

His upper central spine isn't exactly snug, but it does not come loose or fall out at all. His jaw and inner-jaw mechanism work beautifully, while the silver on his teeth and tongue look fantastic. His dome is in good condition as well, considering it's age without any cracks or breaks (minus the 1 pin), and his head still glows beautifully.

His tail isn't exactly snug as well but it doesn't flop or wobble around at all. I believe it is by design for the hanging effect, similar to the wrists.

In my personal and professional opinion, for a used out of box item, this Alien is in absolutely amazing shape and should go to a home where it will be displayed and appreciated for the Incredible and once polarizing collectible it is. Hopefully I covered everything, as I tried my best to be as critical as possible with describing the Alien. Yeah some will think the box should stayed in its original state for one reason or another, but for me the ultimate goal was to re-obtain and preserve one of these things that I could see and touch forever, and not have it behind class or in a sealed case. Sometimes even pull out the figure itself and take a trip back to my childhood. This thing will be packed like nobody's business, in an oversized box, with the best of materials to ensure the new owner receives it exactly as it leaves us.
